Tech Day is the University of Michigan College of Engineering’s annual fall event that invites prospective students and their family members to explore Michigan Engineering. The program brings over 500 prospective students, and their families, to campus. High school students in the 11th and 12th grades and prospective college transfer students are welcome to participate in a full day of scheduled events!
Prospective students explore many exhibits and learn about student life, academics, engineering abroad, and other opportunities at the University of Michigan. Throughout the day, they will interact with current students, who can give them an insider’s perspective on campus. Prospective students also participate in a group design competition that challenges them and gives them the engineering design experience. Tech Day is an opportunity for prospective students to explore their interests and find out what it’s like to be a Michigan Engineer!
Family members are invited to attend, too! There will be special groups and sessions focused on questions that they may have regarding the College of Engineering, student life, academics, and financial aid.
Reasons to Attend Tech Day
Even if you have previously visited the engineering campus and taken a campus tour, Tech Day will still be a very valuable, informative, and unique experience for you! It offers a more comprehensive look into the College of Engineering for prospective students and their family members. You get:
-Personal attention from a student group leader for the whole day
-Presentations on admissions, financial aid, and career opportunities
-The opportunity to speak with students, faculty and administrators who can answer your questions
-Society exhibits and displays by student groups on campus
Tech Day is a large scale event with over 400 volunteers who want to make sure this is a special day for you, our guests!
Online registration, which will open on August 1, is required for Tech Day. Students should register using this form. Family members should indicate their attendance in the relevant field on the student’s online registration form. Educators who would like to participate in family members’ activities for the day or escort a group of students should email email@example.com.
The deadline for registration is Friday, September 23, 2016. The sooner you register, the better we are able to match your Tech Day schedule to your indicated interests, so early registration is strongly advised.
